Site Focus

At the site start, our main concern was getting as many guides together as fast as possible and killing DIY’ers if they fail to comply. Now days however, our goals have expanded to more topics for example perfecting our guides and adding new helpful graphics and content.

While this doesn’t mean that we are going to become tolerant of this emptiness, but this does mean that we will go out and try to get our focus on fixing the guides we currently have.

As always, we are looking for suggestions to help our site improve. If you do have any ideas, staff is always looking for feedback, and please post them in our Community Forums. You can also come up with revised versions of guides and new graphics, however, that is really the staff’s main concern at this point, and it would be much better to assist us in other fields (most preferably writing guides related to skills).

Thank you and I hope you enjoy the new tweaks you see around our current guides,

New Updates + Ways to Reach Us

Hi everyone,

We now have three different methods of getting to our site. The first and recommended method is www.rsdiy.co.nr. Secondly, you may also access us at the previous method rsdiy.wordpress.com is the next method, it is also fast and recommended for dial up users. Finally, rsdiy.cjb.net is the last but least recommended way to reach us.

No way really is better than another, so whatever is best for you to remember, please use, or alternatively, add us to your favorites.

In other news…

Our theme is now back to normal and we no longer are required to display the banner below each of our posts.

Our guides now all have a copyright logo at the bottom of them. We will not support copying of any guide contents and we are in contact with Copyscape to prevent this.

Secondly, we’ve added the blogroll section. This has link to our sponsor’s website as well our forum and RuneScape.com as they are required to have.

We hope you have enjoyed our updates and if you have any further ideas, do not hesitate to post them in our forums (link can be found under the blogroll header on the bottom of the page),

Understanding

Okay, I know there were a lot of changes that recently happened, and not all of us may be fond of these changes, and below I’ll go over what has happened, why we did it, and how you get get out of it if you dislike it. We do not want these changes to hurt our community in anyway, and by all means, all were necessary.

In order to address everyone’s concerns in a simple format for me to make and for you to read, I”ll be making this in a FAQ format.

Q: I hate the new .co.nr!
A: You do not have to visit the .co.nr site. You can simply go to www.rsdiy.wordpress.com and you will get taken to the same place. It is really up to you, and moreover, .co.nr doesn’t get blocked out by the censor either.

Q: What the heck is an ad doing under a post?
A: In order to get a more domainish address, at all times, that little logo used to have to be displayed. I know it isn’t the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen, though they are paying for our address, so please deal with it, and if you’d like to get your URL redirected, feel free to click it and support them. As of today, we’ve added a simple link under blogroll, so it won’t be on news articles any more nor get in your way.

Q: What will happen if I go to runescapediy.wordpress.com?
A: It will take you to a page that says “unsupported” and you will not be able to access any of the content. We will not support two sites, so we are moving all of our users here.

Q: Are all of the comments the same here?
A: Yes. All comments and posts were transferred.

I hope I’ve addressed all concerns in regards to these changes that were made, and I do also hope that everyone understands that they were made to help with the future of the site.

Thank you,

Management
